Asphalt Built-up

Built-up systems are still the most seen roofing material used on low slope roofs. A built up roof consists of layers of asphalt applied between ply sheets (felts) installed over a base sheet, insulation, and the roof deck and finished a layer of aggregate or a cap sheet. Built up roofs provide excellent waterproofing and ultraviolet protection. Built up roofs have been installed for over 100 years and remain popular for new projects large and small.
